The Dipper, (Cinclus cinclus) is superficially dumpy, like a gigantic Wren.
In summer, the Dipper can be found in hilly, mountainous country, usually standing beside a rushing
torrent into which it is likely to swim, wade or walk underwater, looking for caddis fly and other larvae, small fish, crusteans
and molluscs. In winter, the dipper will remain by the edge of a stream but only if this is pssible. In hard winters it may be
driven down to lower parts near the edges of lakes or reservoirs.
